First time blogger....

Wow, I really should have started one of these sooner! I would have liked to have one throughout the pregnancy, but later is always better than never I suppose. One of my best friends in the world, Alexis Burson, has been trying to get me to do one of these for a few months now, and I'm finally having the time to do it!!

Update on me and Jonah- We are officially at the 27 week mark today! Time has flewn by so fast! It just seems like we found out that we were pregnant (which was on Sept. 8, 2008- DERNEY's Birthday!!!). I am so lucky to have had no complications thus far. I have had NO morning sickness and only a small amount of pain from time to time. My heartburn is still there, but I've dealt with it for 7 years now, so it's not really that big of a deal. I'm thankfully allowed to take meds for it. The doctor says that everything is "on track" and Jonah looks "beautiful". She is really sweet! We are lucky to have a doctor as good as Dr. Lafranca. My next appointment is February 9th.

I feel guilty for saying that I don't really enjoy being pregnant, but I'm sure that after I have Jonah, that it will have seemed like a breeze! Compared to my mother's pregnancies, I have it really easy. I guess I was just upset to have gotten pregnant after I dropped about 25 lbs, and worked so hard. But God really does have a sense of humor! I guess he was preparing my body to go through the pregnancy. At least I know how to get it off after I deliver.

Anyway, this past weekend we had our first baby shower in Orlando (St. Cloud) with Joash's family. It was a blast, and we were so lucky to have gotten to see a lot of his friends/family and to get the nice things that we did. His mom, sisters and sister-in-law Janice really did a great job on everything. They had the little whales everywhere, and a really nice cake. Joash and I are going to have to go through the gifts this weekend and start on our thank-you cards. He will definitely have to help me out with that, since there were so many people, and I forget how to pronounce/spell some names. We played a lot of fun games, and even had 3 groups make up songs for Jonah and we chose the winners. I even had to blindfold-feed Joash some banana baby food for one game, and he really didn't like the taste! Poor thing, he said I was choking him. Hahaha! We had a blast. It is just such a short trip everytime we go to see his family, and hopefully we can spend more time with them after Jonah comes!

Bear with me as I continue to try to get this blog up to date! Thanks for reading.
