Closing Day at the new Smith Home

I am so excited that Mom and Dad are closing on their house today! They will be new homeowners again at 1:00pm this afternoon. I can't wait to see the house. Hopefully I can stop and see it on the way to Midland for the baby shower next month. I am so anxious to start on Jonah's nursery and get everything together! It will be nice to have the new baby in a brand new, clean house.
I was about to post a picture, but they took it off the MLS site, dangit.
Oh well... Yay for a new house in Flint, TX.
=)

Talk about a baby boom

Since I got pregnant, I wrote a list of the girls who were pregnant at the same time as me. A few of them have delivered. I am more or less keeping this list for myself, so I can look back and remember who all went through this while I did!
Sarah Smith Jacques- OK- had Baby Alex.
Ashley Peterson Shaw from high school had Baby Kensley.
Jane Mills Gary- bff from high school had baby Emma Grace.
Chelse JoAnn Flowers- bff from Hobbs had Baby Jaden.
Brett Crossland's g/f Ashley-NM- had Baby Brook-lynn.
Rebecca Jones from high school had Baby Kaiah.
Mallory Stewart (forgot her married name) from high school had Baby Brooklyn.
Marie Vanbenthuysen from the Beau in Biloxi had Baby Isabelle.
Angela from Biloxi had Baby Skylar Reign.

Still preggers:
My cousin Kammy Harris in Houston is about a week past her due date with Isaiah Shane.
Winter Guess Kipker from high school is pregnant with Meadow Jade.
Patricia Hennes Rodriguez from high school is pregnant with Ransom.
Erin Godbey from Hobbs is pregnant with Ashtyn.
Monique Melancon Penton from high school is pregnant, but too early to tell the gender.
Laurie Purvis Ladner from high school is pregnant with boy #2.
Angela Baudean Barras from high school is pregnant with Alexa.
Keigan Funderburk Ply from Denver City is pregnant with baby boy #2.
Kelli Ladner Smith? from high school is pregnant with Easton.

Ashleigh Mayo Burns from Midland is pregnant with Preston.
Joash's sister Dannella is about 2 1/2 months pregnant with baby #3.
Joashs's friend Anthony Vasquez and his g/f Christine are pregnant with Lauren Elizabeth.
Mary Susik from Midland just found out this week that she is pregnant with baby #1.
Lisa from work is a few weeks pregnant with baby #1.
Michael from work and his wife are 19 weeks pregnant with baby #2.
My friend Rachael has 2 sister in laws that are pregnant currently.

So that's 27! And i'm sure i'm forgetting some so I will add/edit as this baby boom progresses! A lot of people probably made their babies when Hurricanes Gustav and Ike were happening last fall. I remember after Katrina, there were a couple of pregnancies. Wow!

Just got a call from the Dr.'s office

And the nurse stated that I passed my Glucose screening test with flying colors! I am very excited because for a while, due to my excessive thirst, we were thinking I may have gestational diabetes. Thank God that everything is okay. She stated that my test results were 106, and anything below 130 is good. Hooray! I may celebrate with a really bad-for-me dinner!

First time blogger....

Wow, I really should have started one of these sooner! I would have liked to have one throughout the pregnancy, but later is always better than never I suppose. One of my best friends in the world, Alexis Burson, has been trying to get me to do one of these for a few months now, and I'm finally having the time to do it!!

Update on me and Jonah- We are officially at the 27 week mark today! Time has flewn by so fast! It just seems like we found out that we were pregnant (which was on Sept. 8, 2008- DERNEY's Birthday!!!). I am so lucky to have had no complications thus far. I have had NO morning sickness and only a small amount of pain from time to time. My heartburn is still there, but I've dealt with it for 7 years now, so it's not really that big of a deal. I'm thankfully allowed to take meds for it. The doctor says that everything is "on track" and Jonah looks "beautiful". She is really sweet! We are lucky to have a doctor as good as Dr. Lafranca. My next appointment is February 9th.

I feel guilty for saying that I don't really enjoy being pregnant, but I'm sure that after I have Jonah, that it will have seemed like a breeze! Compared to my mother's pregnancies, I have it really easy. I guess I was just upset to have gotten pregnant after I dropped about 25 lbs, and worked so hard. But God really does have a sense of humor! I guess he was preparing my body to go through the pregnancy. At least I know how to get it off after I deliver.

Anyway, this past weekend we had our first baby shower in Orlando (St. Cloud) with Joash's family. It was a blast, and we were so lucky to have gotten to see a lot of his friends/family and to get the nice things that we did. His mom, sisters and sister-in-law Janice really did a great job on everything. They had the little whales everywhere, and a really nice cake. Joash and I are going to have to go through the gifts this weekend and start on our thank-you cards. He will definitely have to help me out with that, since there were so many people, and I forget how to pronounce/spell some names. We played a lot of fun games, and even had 3 groups make up songs for Jonah and we chose the winners. I even had to blindfold-feed Joash some banana baby food for one game, and he really didn't like the taste! Poor thing, he said I was choking him. Hahaha! We had a blast. It is just such a short trip everytime we go to see his family, and hopefully we can spend more time with them after Jonah comes!

Bear with me as I continue to try to get this blog up to date! Thanks for reading.
